I build small apps and finish them.

I am Richard Lombos. I build software on my own, in Düsseldorf — design, code, release, and the part afterwards where you find out what you got wrong.

The three below do not obviously belong together. A German app for writing down what your child said. A thing that gives a quiet car its engine back. A home screen made of tiles. What they have in common is that each one started as a single specific irritation, and each one is finished, which is rarer than it ought to be.

I care about how a thing feels more than about what it can do. A screen that snaps into place instead of moving there is a bug I will go back and fix. Most of the work in all three apps is in that category and none of it shows up in a feature list.

What they do have in common is where your data is not. Seven Adventures keeps recordings and photos in the EU. Pop Bang reads your speed once a second and never lets your position leave the car. Lumien sends nothing off your phone but a pair of coordinates, and only if you ask it for the weather.

I would rather hold less of it than work out what to do with more.
